Biddenden Bowls Club is a friendly outdoor bowls club located in the beautiful Kent village of Biddenden. During the season from April to September, the club has weekly rollups, friendly matches, league games, a variety of club competitions and lots of socials and fun. The club is a part of the Village Halls and Sports Group.

With a mixture of playing and social members, we are proud to be a small and friendly village club making bowling available to all from beginners to experienced bowlers and all in between.  Our members include people who just want to play social bowls at the club whilst others want to play in league games, competitions, tournaments and county knock outs.  All are valued club members.

Biddenden Bowls Club is totally committed to providing facilities and support to bowlers of all ages and abilities and to ensuring that the club is accessible and inclusive to all including those with any form of impairment or disability. See our Ethos and Inclusion page.

Biddenden Bowls Club is committed to providing a safe environment for young people and adults to enjoy playing bowls.  In accordance with guidance issued by the Bowls Development Alliance we have systems in place to ensure activities at our club are an enjoyable and safe experience for all. Please see our SAFEGUARDING page for more details of our Safeguarding Officers, policies and links to our sources of information and guidance.

The club has 2 teams in the Weald League (mixed triples) and one in the Maidstone League (mens triples), plays over 30 friendly matches home and away against local clubs and hosts its popular Ladies Open Triples Tournament in August. See our friendly & League Games and Competitions Pages

A range of social and community events take place throughout the year, including the annual presentation event, quiz nights, BBQs and picnics on competition days. See our Socials, Fun, Funds page

New members of any ability are always welcome and can come for a taster on one of our Open Days or for a Thursday rollup to meet the members and have a go. Sets of bowls are available and initially all you need to bring along is yourself and a pair of flat soled shoes.  Our club coach and members will be there to make you welcome and get you bowlingSee our Come and Bowl page.

Bowls England - Story of the Year Awards 2020

Biddenden Bowls Club was one of 5 finalists in the Bowls England Story of the Year Award 2020. Stories centred on how clubs and individuals managed the COVID challenges. Sadly although we had great public support from members, families, friends, village residents, squash and badminton players, we did not win in the public vote but it was a real honour for our club and a great achievement to reach the last 5. Sponsors Drakes Pride have presented the club with an umpires case with all the relevant equipment - what a great prize which our markers will really appreciate!!
