Mid Season Message from Jeannette
Biddenden Bowls Club
Mid Season Message from Jeannette (our Chair!)
How lovely to see and meet some of our new members on the green. Shirley, Norman and Sue J are planning something special for Roll ups, so watch this space!!
We now have a very posh "suggestion box" in the club house, please do not hesitate to speak to a committee member if you would like to make any comments or suggestions but the "box " is in the club house if you would prefer to use this facility. (Thanks, Shirley, for making the box for us)
LADIES TOURNAMENT
I am sure Barbara will be updating you on the details of this year’s Tournament, which is being held on Thursday 11th August starting at 9.30am. We hope to welcome 24 teams (triples) to our club.
It is a fun day!! This annual event is the highlight of our bowling calendar, providing bowls teams from across Kent and the surrounding areas the chance to come together, meet friends and play some competitive bowls in the beautiful village of Biddenden.
The role of all the those who volunteer to help Barbara plan and run the event is crucial as funds raised on the day help to maintain the ground, facilities and develop club activities. As you are all aware fund raising has been extremely difficult over the last two years and YOUR CLUB needs your help so please do come along with your family and enjoy the overall ambiance. Refreshments will be on sale all day (BBQ, cakes, teas and coffees). And there is also a mammoth raffle, come and help raise funds by buying tickets!!
If you have any ideas for future fund raising or social activities or would be prepared to run one,!! then please speak to a committee member.
THE RAFFLE for Ladies Day
Ann Walker has kindly agreed to run the Ladies Day raffle again this year. We need all members to donate a prize and really welcome your support. There is a raffle box in the club house, please pop your donations into it. Please do not leave chocolates in this box as it gets very hot in the club house (pop them in the fridge please).
Last but not least, please do sign up for games, the sheets are on the wall of the club house, new players are very welcome. The club handicap competition is coming up shortly along with the yard stick competition, these are wonderful games for new players and are great fun. Hope to see you all on the green.
