Bowls Big Weekend is back for 2022

We will be hosting another BBWE taster day on Sunday 29th May from 10am to 4pm. This will be a really important day to welcome potential new bowlers to the green and continue to raise a positive profile in Biddenden and surrounding villages.

PLEASE CAN YOU HELP.

We are asking as many members as possible to commit a couple of hours to come along and help. Hopefully it will be really busy but if not a good chance for a roll up and chat!! We know members have holidays as well as family and other commitments but if you can help please email me at [email protected] with the times you can come.

We have all the equipment needed for bowlers of all ages including some bowling aids if needed. Bowlers will just need to bring along some flat soled shoes/trainers and a hat/suntan cream as needed. Tea, coffee, cold drinks and snacks (including some Sue J cakes!!) will be provided.

Bowls England is promoting the event in a big way and TV, radio and social media coverage with be featuring over the next week. "Up and down the country bowls clubs will be opening their doors to people who want to try a new sport, have some fun and meet new people. With the Commonwealth Games coming up later this summer, why not come along and see what makes this sport such an accessible and vitalising option for everyone!"

We are promoting the day across Biddenden, High Halden, Bethersden and Rolvenden using social media, posters, leaflets, village magazines and word of mouth. Do spread the word.

It was great fun in 2021 and will be again this year!!

The day will be quite an informal one but it is really important that we have members there throughout the day to greet people as they arrive, make them welcome and help them get bowling.

If you have friends/neighbours who might like to come along do invite them plus it's a great chance for partners in the intergenerational tournament on 17th July to come along for a practice.

It is vital that we continue to attract new members for the future of the club and to ensure we can fulfil all of our fixtures. Also as you all know it is a great activity (physically, mentally and socially) and letting others know and experience this is so important.
